Gallery Bound
Gallery Bound is a SMART/ART educational partnership program designed by Sean FitzGibbons, a Youth Program Coordinator for District 6 Councilwoman Herrera. The purpose of the program is to educate youth concerning graffiti abatement by teaching other mediums not associated with tagging or graffiti while strengthening fine art backgrounds by getting youth a[euro]oeoff the streets and into the galleries.a[euro] Instructors Aaron Moreno and Joe Delacruz teach stencil and silkscreen techniques. Established artist and educator Alex Rubio, who was a prolific tagger, gives a lecture addressing the significance of the program: to provide an opportunity to cultivate their personal expression while providing career exploration, cultural awareness, and education of the arts. Gallery Bound is funded by San Antonio City Council.
